Sarah has worked in education for 40 years, as a secondary school teacher and education adviser in Cambridgeshire and then as national organiser for an education charity. She has lived in Newnham since 1988 and her children went to Newnham Croft and other Cambridge state schools. Since retiring she has served as a governor at a Cambridge primary school. Sarah has been a Labour Party member for most of her adult life, campaigning on foreign policy issues as well as UK and local ones.
