On 7 May 2015, Labour’s Daniel Zeichner was elected MP for Cambridge and, in his maiden speech, he pledged to match the record of hard work and constituency engagement set by Cambridge’s recent MPs, both Labour and Liberal Democrat.

He has also stated that his priorities will be to do everything possible to tackle the city’s shortage of affordable housing and its transport problems, to resist the Conservative government’s attempts to erode human rights in the UK and to fight to ensure that Britain once again plays a central role in a reformed European Union.
