In the end, we finished just short of the Liberal Democrats but Labour recorded its highest share of the vote in 20 years. Our message of a “zero carbon, zero poverty” society resonated with people we spoke to on Newnham doorsteps and our efforts to promote discussion of Newnham’s congestion and parking problems and to listen to residents’ views were appreciated.”
